The Westminster Bangladeshi Welfare Trust is an incredible organisation that brings our neighbourhoods closer together.
Led by Shaista Miah, Nickie met with the Trust again, this time in Parliament, to speak about their local priorities and their concerns about the disgraceful rise in islamophobia as a result of the situation in Israel and Gaza.
Nickie reaffirmed that we need a long-lasting two-state solution so that the current bloodshed can end once and for all and she was able to reassure the Trust’s members that she is working with the Government to bring this conflict to an end.
They also spoke about the Trust’s local needs and its long-term plans. Nickie will continue to do all I can to support this fantastic organisation.
