Health Secretary, the Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, has recorded the following short message to people across Westminster encouraging them to accept a COVID vaccine when offered it.
In his message the Health Secretary said,
I want to thank everybody involved across Westminster for the work to get the vaccine rollout delivered and delivered to all.
It's a huge effort. It's been a partnership between the NHS, local GPs, who I'm very, very grateful to all of their work, and of course, Westminster City Council working very hard on this, and the volunteers.
Personally, I visited Westminster Abbey where Westminster residents are being vaccinated.
It's an incredibly important job, and especially to make sure that this programme is accessible to all.
And I know, I know that Nickie Aiken has been working incredibly hard in that, in making sure that we can reach all with the message that this vaccine is good for you, it's the right thing to do, it is good for your community, and it is good for all of us because it's our way out of this pandemic.
So, thank you to everybody involved across Westminster for working so hard to get this vaccine rollout going.
There's a long way still to go but we're well on the road.
