Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, has received huge correspondence from local people about the growing cost of living.
Nickie believes in ensuring everyone has access to information, and advice on financial and practical help is available to help through this challenging time and joined forces with our Westminster Citizens Advice Bureau in a joint advice surgery. They held the surgery at the Crown Court Church of Scotland in Covent Garden.
Nickie was delighted to be joined by Gavin Patmore from the CAB and she hopes to hold more of these joint surgeries in the coming months.
It was an excellent opportunity to hear your concerns, and share what help and support is available. Things like council tax rebates, relief on energy bills, ways to reduce costs and energy, and also what different organisations are doing to help, such as supermarkets, cafés, and foodbanks. Nickie's Cost of Living Help Hub is kept up to date with how different organisations and charities can help. Take a look here, and if you have a question that’s not answered in Nickie's Help Hub, please get in touch.
At the same time, Nickie also held her latest surgery, hearing from local people about other pressing matters. Issues such as immigration, policing, and tax issues. Nickie holds regular surgeries and if you have an issue you think she can help with, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
