Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, marked World Cancer Day, and raised awareness of the symptoms of cancer.
On World Cancer Day, Nickie is proud to wear her Cancer Research UK wristband. If you do have symptoms that you're worried about, please do speak to your GP.
Last year, Nickie visited Maggie's Centres at St Barts in the City of London and she was truly humbled by their brilliant work. Maggie's offers a place to go if you have had a diagnosis or are caring for someone with cancer. You can walk straight in and get the support you need.
Speaking on the day, Nickie commented,
"Today is World Cancer Day, and I am delighted to be wearing my World Cancer Day wristband which Cancer Research UK has sent me. Cancer and other serious diseases have taken a backseat it seems during the pandemic, but it's so important that we all work together to beat cancer, whether it's through private donations, fundraising or government financial support.
"We've all got to join together in the fight against cancer. We can beat it. And if you do have symptoms that you're worried about, please do speak to your GP."
