MP for the Two Cities, Nickie Aiken joined calls to raise awareness around Baby Loss.
From Nickie's own personal experience, and hearing from others across Parliament, losing a baby at whatever stage of pregnancy or labour is a devastating lifelong experience.
Nickie commends the outstanding work that many midwives undertake every day and the brilliant work of Jane Scott and Lauren Petrie to change the way the death of a baby is perceived, funded and supported, including at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is the 9th to 15th October, and to all those people going through bereavement of a lost baby at this moment Nickie says
"You are not alone."
Nickie is immensely grateful to Cherilyn Mackrory MP for securing the powerful debate.
If you have experienced Baby Loss, and are in need of support, the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance have some fantastic resources which may help, and are available here.
