MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, had a brilliant visit to Berry Bros. & Rudd, the world-renowned wine merchant, and Britain's oldest wine and spirit trader, dating back to 1698.
Founded by a female widow, Berry Bros & Rudd, is another female entrepreneur success story in the Two Cities!
Nickie found it fascinating to hear the stories of how princes, politicians, poets, sportsmen and other celebrities in many fields would go in to the St James's store, and use the scales to weigh themselves.
The first entry is from 1765, and it's probably the first example of weight watchers!
During her visit, Nickie met with Adam Holden from Berry Bros & Rudd, and Miles Beale from Wine Drinkers UK to discuss the Alcohol Duty Proposals, amongst other issues.
