The St John’s Wood Society is an incredibly active local amenity society, and through its engagement with its neighbourhood, it plays a key role in preserving the character of St John’s Wood.
Over summer recess, Nickie Aiken sat down with Virginia Newman, the Vice-Chair of the Society, and Linda Taggart, its Police Liaison, alongside Regent's Park ward councillors Ralu Oteh-Osoka, Robert Rigby, and Paul Swaddle, to discuss the tremendous work the Society does in supporting the local community.
From securing £2m public realm investment in the High Street to encouraging people to shop locally, the Society is a force to be reckoned with, and what it has done for the high street is amazing.
On a walkabout of the High Street, they discussed the key challenges that local people and businesses face and how the society’s vision for St John’s Wood seeks to address these issues.
