On Monday, 18 July, and Tuesday, 19 July, temperatures across the Two Cities are expected to reach over 40 degrees. The Met Office has issued its first ever Red Extreme heat warning.
We can all do our bit, to help keep us, our loved ones, friends, neighbours and strangers safe.
- Stay out of the heat, cool yourself down, keep your environment cool or find somewhere else that is cool.
- Look out for neighbours, family or friends who may be isolated and unable to care for themselves; make sure they are able to keep cool during a heatwave.
- Get medical advice if you are suffering from a chronic medical condition or taking multiple medications.
- Be alert and if someone is unwell or needs further help, find out more here.
- Try to avoid being out during the hottest part of the day, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
There's much more really sensible advice available here. Please do have a look and let us all keep safe during this hot weather.
