^ Making the case with the Minister for Tourism for a short-lets registration scheme
Short-lets allow homeowners to rent a property or room over one or two days. Over the course of a year, homeowners in London are allowed to let their property for up to 90 nights.
Whilst these short-lets can be a great way for tourists to visit our Two Cities, Nickie Aiken MP has heard repeatedly from local people about the misery that out of control, rogue short-let landlords can cause.
Last week, following the presentation of Nickie's petition to urge the Government to launch its consultation for a short-lets registration scheme, she met with the Minister for Tourism, Nigel Huddleston MP, to continue pressing for action.
Nigel is keen to launch the consultation for the Tourist Accommodation Registration Scheme and ensure that voices from right across the country can be heard. Nickie will let you know when the consultation begins.
