To mark World Book Day, Nickie Aiken, MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, was delighted to hold a Short Story Competition with children at St Barnabas' Primary School.
Nickie thanked everyone who took part in her competition. The stories were wonderful, and she was gripped by the creativity and imagination of each and every one.
As part of the school's celebrations, Nickie visited St Barnabas, equipped with a selection of books and book tokens from World Book Day, and announced the winners of her competition!
Commenting afterwards, Nickie said,
"Thank you to everyone at St Barnabas who took part in my competition. The stories were outstanding and I enjoyed reading every single one.
"World Book Day is a celebration of reading, it’s on us all to do what we can to encourage everyone, no matter their age, to pick up a book. Sometimes it really can be as simple as one book to change someone's entire life."
