Cities of London & Westminster MP, Nickie Aiken, met with Health Minister, Lord Markham, who is responsible for the Government’s hospital programme along with neighbouring MP Felicity Buchan, and Professor Tim Orchard, chief executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Nigel Crainey from St Mary’s.
This was a follow-up from their meeting in the summer to continue to discuss the Trust’s innovative plans to secure a full redevelopment of the St Mary’s Hospital site. The Trust has spent the time since our last meeting drawing up a business case for a new hospital.
The Government has confirmed it is committed to getting the enabling works started as soon as possible. Nickie will continue to work with all involved to ensure St Mary’s better serves our local community as London’s major acute hospital.
