While Parliament was prorogued, Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, took the opportunity to catch up with local people in the City of London over some arts and crafts.
Every Wednesday from 2.30 until - 4.30 pm, people living in and around Golden Lane Estate come together in a community room to express their creativity by stitching.
Nickie was delighted to join them and meet the man behind the idea, Billy. A self-proclaimed “sow bro”, Billy discovered the art for stitching two years ago when he was encouraged by East London-based charity, Headway London, to pick up the hobby to help him recover from a brain injury.
Nickie thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the cross-stitch session and found it so relaxing. She has continued with stitching the bag with the design of the Two Cities at home!
