The Two Cities has a large vibrant Chinese community centred around Westminster’s iconic Chinatown.  Local MP Nickie Aiken shared the message below to celebrate the Year of the Ox:

Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends and the whole community.

I know it will be a very different celebration this year because of the pandemic.

But I'm so proud that London's Chinatown sits in the heart of my own constituency of the Cities of London and Westminster.

And whatever your plans are to celebrate this year, probably virtually, I hope you can still have a splendid time.

This new year is the Year of the Ox, which represents prosperity.

And what a relevant year it will be this year when we rebuild our economy after the COVID pandemic.

So, whatever your plans are, I wish you a very, very happy Chinese New Year.
