Rising levels of crime and anti-social behaviour are issues so many local people have written and spoken to Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, about over the last few months.
Responding to concerns, Nickie launched her crime and policing survey so that she could hear directly from local people about their experiences and priorities for the police.
Nickie thanks everyone who has responded to her survey, she has received thousands of replies which she is reading through. If you haven’t already, please take the survey here.
One crime hotspot Nickie received the most correspondence on is in the Victoria area, and she brought together the Police and Council Leader to hold a public meeting for local people to raise their concerns.
From the meeting, it was clear that there are major concerns from so many about anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, and drug taking. Nickie plans to invite everyone back in a couple of months so we can hear from the council and the police about what they are doing to address the concerns and provide a long-term action plan.
