Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, was delighted to attend a breakfast at the Guildhall, hosted by Alderman Prem Goyal and the City of London Corporation.
This was a fantastic opportunity to speak to Aldermen, Common Councillors, the City Police Commissioner and officials about local and national issues affecting the Square Mile.
At the top of Nickie's list was how we can work together to support small businesses and residents. These people form the heartbeat of our community in the City. Nickie spoke about the importance of getting staff back into the office, which she is delighted to see the City is being proactive on with initiatives such as Destination City.
Nickie also spoke about her Crime Plan for the City of London. She encouraged a more visible police presence and pressed the need to crack down on anti-social behaviour. Working together, the Two Cities will be a safer place to live.
There was also time for a Q&A session where issues such as access to the arts, school places, and business rates were raised.
