Member of Parliament for the Cities of London and Westminster, Nickie Aiken, has joined calls urging the government to consider relaxing the 2-metre rule.
Speaking on PM on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 19 June, Nickie suggested that the time was right to look at changing the rule, as the coronavirus alert level had fallen from 4 to 3, in order to support the hospitality and entertainment industries.
Nickie also affirmed both industry leaders and the government’s commitment to getting both industries up and running as soon as is safely possible not just for their economic contribution but their benefit to the nation's well-being.
