Earlier today, following a tour of the Grosvenor Casino, Nickie sat down with Mark Crockett, the General Manager, to discuss the measures the casino has been taking to allow it to reopen safety.
On the measures that the casino has put in place Mark said,
“The feedback that we been extremely positive around the changes that we've done with regards to social distancing. We've obviously got all the plastic screens in between the roulette tables and blackjack.
“We've also got thermal imaging cameras which are in place at reception along with ID Scan where we can use that for Track and Trace. We're more than gold standard!”
On the measures, Nickie said,
“I’ve been really impressed by the measures that not just the Grosvenor but casinos across the Two Cities have put in place to make themselves as safe as possible. It’s important that the industry continues to work with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Public Health England and other ministers to ensure that casinos, a really important part of the West End's ecosystem, which brings retail and the hospitality and leisure sectors together, can reopen.
“It's so important for jobs, it's so important for the tax that they pay, that pay for our public services, and it's also really important to get the West End back open and running and back to the way we love the West End.”
