Cities of London & Westminster MP Nickie Aiken has welcomed the news that over 70s who either live or work in the City of London, any health care professionals or anyone who live or work in the City of London who fulfils the current vulnerable persons criteria are able to book to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at St Bart's Hospital in the City.
Many local people were under the impression that they would have to travel to Hackney or Wembley to receive their first dose.
Nickie has been pushing for vaccines to be administered in the Square Mile.
Commenting after hearing the news Nickie said,
I've just had some great news that Bart's Hospital in the City of London is now providing the COVID-19 vaccination for all those living in the City of London.
I've been liaising with the hospital, as well as the local NHS CCG, to ensure that the City of London residents have a local hub to go to. Otherwise, they were having to travel to Hackney or as far as the ExCel Centre.
“So I'm really, really pleased that they have now agreed to offer this to all those in the first four groups that the government is targeting.
So if you are in one of those four groups and you do live in the City, please email [email protected]
This is really great news. I'm so delighted.
