Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, has welcomed the additional support announced by the Chancellor for the arts and cultural sector in today’s budget.
Speaking with LBC News, Nickie said:
It’s really important that the government has agreed that it's vital that we support our arts and cultural sector to reopen.
They’re so vital to wider local economies.
In Westminster, theatres and music venues support hospitality, and retail, and hotels, so we need to support these guys to get open.
I know from speaking to them they are chomping at the bit to reopen and have audiences inside, and the whole of the West End is looking forward to inviting everybody back.
