As the MP for the Two Cities including the West End, Nickie is very keen to see our entertainment venues open up as quickly as possible. She was delighted to be invited to join the Government's events research programme.
This evening will see 4,000 people at The O2 arena, for the BRIT Awards without social distancing, but with stringent testing measures in place.
Nickie explains
As you know, the government roadmap is on target.
And the big aim is for the 21st of June when we can have no social distancing when it comes to theatres and music events, festivals, all type of events.
And as part of the roadmap, there's a series of test events.
We saw one happening in Liverpool last week, and this evening it's the Brits, as a test event.
I've been fortunate enough to be invited to go along and to take part in the test event.
I have to complete and submit a test before attending, and then do another test within five days, which I will gladly do.
If everything is successful with the pilot testing, from 21st June onwards, we will be able to enjoy our cultural and entertainment events, including our theatres, without social distancing measures.
