MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, has been astounded by the eye watering sums that some Parliamentarians have received from Christine Lee, and organisations connected to her.
In the Chamber, Nickie asked the Home Secretary, Priti Patel MP, whether those individuals should return the money, or even donate to a charity connected to human rights in China.
In the Chamber, Nickie said,
"Thank you, Mr Speaker, may I first start by paying tribute to our outstanding security services who keep us safe day in, day out. Mr. Speaker, I have been astounded by some of the eye watering sums that some individual parliamentarians have received from Christine Lee and organisations connected to her.
"Does my Rt. Hon. Friend think that those individuals should be paying back those sums and if not to the people who have donated already, but perhaps to a charity connected to human rights in China?"
Home Secretary, Priti Patel MP, replied,
"My Hon. Friend has raised some tantalising recommendations, I think it's fair to say for consideration. I think it's important first of all, Mr. Speaker, for anyone, that obviously has been in contact with the individual or received anything from the individual, that they continue to cooperate with our intelligence and security services."
