Nickie Aiken, MP for the Cities of London & Westminster was honoured to be invited by Bishop Kenneth of the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family based in Mayfair. It was a very moving service.
Nickie met many British Ukrainians who are incredibly worried for family and friends in Ukraine, especially as so many seek shelter underground.
During the service, Nickie assured everyone that the British stand shoulder to shoulder with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. She knows from her conversations with Ministers they are working day and night to support the Ukrainian government and military. They are undertaking major diplomatic and economic efforts as well as increasing the amount of military hardware being sent to the Ukrainians. Nickie will continue to encourage our government to do as much as possible to end this illegal invasion of a sovereign democratic country by President Putin and ensure refugees are given safe passage and brought to safe counties including the UK.
