^ Last year, Nickie brought the Minister for Health, Maria Caulfield MP, on a visit to St. Mary's Hospital to hear from Bereavement Midwives Jane Scott and Lauren Petrie about their work to change the way the death of a baby is perceived, funded and supported.
It's here! The Government has launched its Women's Health Strategy.
Since arriving in Parliament, I have spoken out to break the taboo on women's health issues, ensuring women get the healthcare they deserve. I have lobbied Ministers, spoken out in Parliament, listened to our incredible doctors and nurses - including at the maternal unit in St. Mary's Hospital - and joined the Menopause Revolution.
The new Strategy includes:
- A new pregnancy loss certificate for parents who have lost a child before 24 weeks.
- Specialist endometriosis services, offering the most up-to-date evidence and advice.
- 25 new mobile breast screening units across the country.
- Improvements to transparency on provision and availability of IVF, and removing additional barriers to IVF for female same-sex couples.
I welcome the Women's Health Strategy and believe it will go a long way to addressing the barriers to medical support that women often face. It will ensure women for generations to come have access to NHS services that meet their health needs at all stages of their lives.
The Women's Health Strategy comes following the Government's work to support women going through the menopause with the establishment of the UK Menopause Taskforce. The taskforce is driving forward work to improve healthcare support for women. It's really important to know the symptoms of menopause. Find out the symptoms here.
