Girlguiding is the UK's largest girl-only youth organisation. Set up in 1910, the group empowers girls aged four to 18 to find their voice and to make a positive difference in their community.
Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, sat down with the Girlguiding team at their headquarters in London to hear directly about the issues that are affecting them.
Nickie also learnt how they kept our young people together during the pandemic with regular online meetings and activities.
The Government's Violence Against Women and Girls strategy and how we can enhance protection is a key issue for Girlguiding. Nickie will take their key asks directly to Ministers.
Speaking afterwards, Nickie exclaimed,
"It is the volunteers who make Girlguiding what it is. They are the reason this fantastic organisation continues to thrive. Their volunteers hold the regular meetings, plan the activities and empower our girls. To everyone volunteering for this incredible group, I say thank you. You embody what it is to be a Two Cities Hero."
